Professional Objectives:

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the pharmacy team leader is responsible for ensuring all prescriptions are filled according to order and regulations, accurately, and in a timely manner. They are responsible for compliance areas related to Wisconsin law, including compliance with DEA regulations.  Moreover, it is the pharmacy team leader’s responsibility to supervise and develop their technician and pharmacist team.

 Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform all essential job functions of a pharmacy team leader
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all Wisconsin and Federal pharmacy law guidelines
  • Perform all required inventory management functions for all controlled substances
  • Evaluate CII inventory levels and place orders when appropriate via CSOS
  • Report all med errors following protocol
  • Hire, manage, and schedule technicians to ensure adequate coverage for workflow
  • Ensure continual coaching/training/development of all technicians supervised
  • Be knowledgeable of expectations of other staff positions (data entry, fulfillment, inventory) and hold the staff accountable for those expectations
  • Be knowledgeable of all pharmacy operations and be able to adjust to other areas when needed
  • Evaluate and manage financial health of pharmacy department including sales, purchases, labor, and gross profit
  • Work closely with Director of Pharmacy to evaluate workflow processes and implement changes as necessary
  • Perform annual reviews for all technicians
  • Other duties as assigned

 Requirements:

  • Clear and valid Wisconsin Pharmacist license required
  • 1+ years pharmacist experience preferred
  • Immunization-certified
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
  • Excellent computer skills, including pharmacy operations system knowledge
