The Story

The Augustyn family established Canopy Gardens in 1995 by growing the highest quality tomatoes, cucumbers and basil in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Since 2020, as the second generation, they have proudly carried on that responsibility. They have gone through two major greenhouse expansions and multiple product line expansions. They use sustainable hydroponic growing methods, avoid GMO’s, harmful pesticides and herbicides.

Canopy Gardens believes that food should be healing and beneficial to the body and sourced locally when possible. As their product line continues to grow they maintain the quality, standards and superior flavor that customers have come to expect from them and our partners. Canopy Gardens is committed to bringing safe, nutritious and quality produce to Wisconsin and supporting our local communities.

Cucumbers

Canopy Gardens grows some of the best Cucumbers you can possibly get. The plants are English and Turkish varieties, both of which are seedless and have very tender and thin skins. The English are a longer slightly thicker skinned cucumber while the Turkish are a perfect snack size with super thin skin which makes for a great snack without peeling.  The English cucumbers are sold individually and the Turkish or Mini cucumbers are sold in bulk by the pound or in 10oz size bags which are perfect for grabbing and snacking.

Mushrooms

It was the Augustyn family's oldest child, Avia, who was 9 at the time, that secured the mushroom growing by the nursery. She decided she wanted her own business one day and spent hours learning all about growing mushrooms. After weighing her options about starting up her own company or adding mushrooms to Canopy Gardens produce lines, she made the decision to add mushrooms to our operation here. Its been a fun addition and we are happy that she came up with the wonderful idea. We know you will enjoy the selections as well.

Microgreens

Microgreens are another new item that Canopy Gardens was excited to offer. Did you know microgreens can have up to 40x more nutrition that their full grown counterparts! They are nutrient dense superfoods that are extremely versatile in use and pack amazing flavor!  Canopy Gardens currently grows several varieties and can be found in our stores. The continually test out new types all the time so check back for updates on our current offerings. Unlike our tomatoes and cucumbers microgreens are available year round!
