How to Serve Stone Crab Claws

Traditionally served chilled and pre-cracked, stone crab claws are as simple to serve as they are satisfying. All you need are:

  • A tray of ice or chilled seafood tower
  • Cracked claws (use a wooden crab mallet)
  • Seafood forks, napkins, and wet towels for guests

Want to elevate it? Pair with Frenchy’s Signature Mustard Sauce—a tangy, creamy blend that’s locally famous and made to complement stone crab’s natural flavor. Prefer warm claws? Lightly steam them and serve with lemon wedges or drawn butter.

Best Side Dishes to Serve with Stone Crab Claws

Keep it light and coastal to let the crab shine. Here are some top pairings:

  • Coconut jasmine rice with fresh herbs
  • Grilled or garlic butter asparagus
  • Roasted fingerling potatoes with sea salt
  • Citrus avocado salad with arugula
  • She-crab soup or seafood chowder (for chillier evenings)

Bonus tip: serve a few lemon wedges, sliced baguette, or a simple coleslaw for contrast and crunch.

What to Drink with Stone Crab

Stone crab’s mild, sweet flavor pairs perfectly with crisp, citrusy beverages:

  • Wine: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, or Sauvignon Blanc
  • Sparkling: Champagne or Prosecco for festive flair
  • Cocktails: Citrus spritzers, mojitos, or a Paloma
  • Mocktails: Lemon-lime fizz or a cucumber mint cooler

Set the Scene:

Coastal Casual or Elegant & Elevated Your stone crab dinner can be as laid-back or upscale as you like. For a casual gathering, line the table with butcher paper, scatter lemons, and place seafood tools at each setting. For a more elegant feel, use white platters, linen napkins, and candles with driftwood or shell accents. Don’t forget seafood placemats and forks—our Stone Crab Dinner for Two or Dinner for Three kits include everything you need to host like a pro.
